On February 8, 2015, 27 members of the newly formed SRFC Faculty Network met in conjunction with the SSRFC Conference in Atlanta, GA with the help of the planning committee including Audrey Paulman, Lanita White, Ellen Beck and Sue Paparella. The gathering included a presentation by Torian Easterling and Brian Sick on Interprofessional Education and Collaboration, a presentation on fundraising by Ellen Beck, a presentation by Paul Paulman about the pros and cons of creating a professional organization for faculty of SRFCs and the Faculty Network’s first business meeting chaired by Brian Sick.
The following mission for the group was submitted:
THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDENT RUN FREE CLINIC FACULTY NETWORK IS TO ENGAGE AND SUPPORT FACULTY, CLINICIANS AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF INVOLVED IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND/OR DELIVERY OF STUDENT-LED CLINICS. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY:
CREATING A NETWORK OF FACULTY, CLINICIANS AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF INVOLVED IN STUDENT-LED CLINICS AND PROVIDING A FORUM FOR COMMUNICATION
PROVIDE A MECHANISM TO SHARE DATA AND OUTCOMES FOR THE BETTERMENT OF STUDENT-LED CLINICS
ACT AS A FORMAL LIAISON TO THE SOCIETY OF STUDENT-RUN FREE CLINICS
The group set its charge for the next year as declaration and approval of the Faculty Network as an official organization. This included the formation of the following committees:

BYLAWS SUBCOMMITTEE: LANITA WHITE AND WILLIAM HAY WITH MARY MARFISEE AS CONSULTANT
BUDGET SUBCOMMITTEE: YASMIN MEAH, ELLEN BECK AND DEEP SINGH
COMMUNICATION CHAIRS: TORIAN EASTERLING AND REBECCA LUNDH
CONFERENCE PROGRAMMING CHAIR: LANITA WHITE
